This product locks on to walls or ceilings 3/8-1/2" thick but also works if you hit a stud. It accepts # 6- #14 screws. You need only 5/16" drill and screwdriver or screw gun. It holds up to 143 lbs. in 1/2" drywall with #8 screw. Use 1/4 of ultimate load. It has vibration-proof holding in 3/8"-1/2" walls. Anti-rotation fins prevent anchor spinning. You can use a screw gun to install (#8 screws included). It works with a #6 - #14 screw and also holds if you hit an unexpected stud or solid. It's great for blinds
