An end cap moulding has several uses, such as transitioning from laminate to carpet, fireplaces and exterior doors. Cap mouldings can be used to cap other mouldings, such as beadboard wainscotting. This type of moulding is used on top of a base moulding to give it a rounded or profiled look.
