Crown moulding is a decorative element that is installed where the wall meets ceiling. In the past, crown moulding served to cover cracks between the wall and the ceiling. In modern uses, it appears in places other than the top of the wall, such as cabinets, entryways, mantels, bookshelves and hiding wires. Crown moulding adds a finishing touch to an area.
