Hickory landing tread. Used for blending from stairway to landing. Landing treads provide a sleek overhang along stairway balconies and top step for a finished appearance. Hickory is the hardest, heaviest and strongest American wood. Coarse-textured with a fine grain and usually straight, but can be wavy or irregular. Wood can be sanded to a good finish.
