A baseboard or base moulding is usually wooden or vinyl board covering the lowest part of an interior wall. Its purpose is to cover the joint between the wall surface and the floor. A base cap moulding is a decorative wood profile applied to the top of a piece of baseboard to create an attractive, elegant look.
